For all my immediate cousins, we know that our Grandfather married Emma Hilsey, after his first wife Anna Conaway passed away on New Years Eve in 1923. The story, unsupported, was that Emma was the babysitter for William Jr, then about 5 years old. More on the Hilseys is to come, but like many folks I cannot track the "Hilsey" line back before Robert, Emma's Grandfather. Robert's wife, also Emma Neiman/Nieman/Neuman, etc,, has ancestral history that leads back to the arrival of the Concord, carrying the Krefeld Germans in 1683 and the founding of Germantown MORE LATER
